Teacher's Training: How to Support the Professional Development of Teachers in India

A country with a vast and diverse population, India faces challenges in providing equitable and high-quality education to all students. One of the most critical factors contributing to this challenge is the professional competence of teachers. This article aims to explore the current state of teacher training in India, the challenges faced by educators, and ways to support their continuous professional development. It delves into the existing teacher training programs, government initiatives, and international best practices, proposing a framework for improving teacher professional development in India. A key focus is on contextualizing training programs that are relevant to the Indian educational setting, integrating technology, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.
